Our qualified and experienced staff are warm, supportive and nurturing and have an excellent understanding of how to safeguard children whilst in our care. Our stimulating environment helps us to plan for children’s interests giving them a great start in their early years.
We offer a wide range of activities and learning experiences to help develop young minds, from messy play, cooking to problem-solving covering all prime and specific areas of the early year’s foundation stage. We love to explore the world around us and go out on trips to develop the children’s curiosity further.

We provide warm, loving and nurturing childcare and educational support by ensuring our staff have in-depth knowledge and understanding with current legislation and continuing professional development. We develop strong links with outside agencies, the local authority and our parents.

We have two rooms our caterpillar room catering for children aged 6 weeks to 2 years, and our butterfly room caters for children aged 2 years to 5 years. Each room has their own outdoor area which we use all year round in all weathers.
Tees Valley Tots is a social enterprise entity based within the Women’s Centre, offering affordable childcare for children aged 6 week up to 5 years.
We are Ofsted registered for up to 23 children and operate in full compliance with all government and Ofsted guidelines.
Our nursery follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework and supports government-funded free childcare places.

Children are provided with healthy meals and snacks throughout the day; we cater to a range of dietary needs.
Outdoor play is a big part of nursery life, our secure outside area gives children the opportunity to run, explore and develop motor skills and have fun in all weathers.

We look after children from 6 weeks to 5 years, we accept children who receive 2, 3 & 4 year old funding

Women attending courses in the Centre are offered free childcare within our creche setting, which removes one of the most common barriers to learning for local women.
Each child is an individual and learns at different times & stages, our continual monitoring and varied activities help us to keep the child interested whilst developing skills and ability.
Our friendly staff team (Early Years qualified) continually strive to make learning fun, they work closely with key children planning & executing activities to suit each child’s individual needs in line with the EYFS guidelines.
