New Community Advice Partnership Launched to Support the South Bank Community

Home > Blog

A new partnership between Tees Valley Women’s Centre and Citizens Advice Bureau has officially launched, bringing trusted, community-based advice directly to women and families in the South Bank area.

The launch event welcomed partners, funders and members of the local community for a morning of information sharing, discussion and networking. Attendees had the opportunity to learn more about the new service, meet the advisers involved and share their views on the issues affecting local women and families. Feedback from the event highlighted just how vital this service will be in helping people access timely, confidential support close to home.

The partnership will see Citizens Advice advisers based at Tees Valley Women’s Centre, offering free, independent and confidential advice on a range of issues including benefits, debt, money management, housing, energy and family matters. Delivered in a safe and welcoming environment, the service aims to improve financial resilience, reduce hardship and help prevent issues from escalating into crisis.

This important work has been made possible thanks to the generous support of Woodsmith Foundation and Mercers Charitable Foundation, whose funding enables advice services to be delivered directly within the community.

The launch event itself was supported by local businesses, with The Compleat Food Group kindly donating food for the buffet and Asda providing tea, coffee and biscuits for refreshments. Their contributions helped create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for everyone attending.

This partnership reflects a shared commitment to strengthening community support and ensuring that women and families in South Bank can access the right help at the right time. Both organisations are looking forward to working together to build trusted relationships, listen to community feedback and continue developing services that make a meaningful difference to local lives.
